英語タイトルの"Solo: A Star Wars Story" PRESS CONFERENCEは「『ハン・ソロ／スター・ウォーズ・ストーリー』記者会見」です。今回は、この映画作品の監督を務めたRon Howard（ロン・ハワード）氏の会見の一部を取り上げてご紹介します。
『スター・ウォーズ・シリーズ』は、黒澤明監督の作品に強く影響を受けていると言われています。シリーズにおいて過去に監督を務めていたGeorge Lucas（ジョージ・ルーカス）氏と一緒に黒澤監督に会ったことがあるというハワード監督が、そのときのことをどのように話しているか聞きとってみてください。本文に出てくるcollaboration、complicated、serve ... wellなどの英語表現にも注目してみましょう。

I had the great honor of meeting Mr. Kurosawa with George and having a wonderful dinner. He gave me several pieces of advice that I've carried with me, but there was one lesson that I took with me into this production.
He would seek collaborations with two other people. He liked the idea of three people working closely together — a triangle of problem solving. And when I became involved in this project, and I realized it was a tremendous challenge with complicated deadline pressures, I decided to use the writers as one point, the producers as another point, and myself as the third. And this became the collaboration that I used to try to take the movie further and meet the demands of the schedule and the challenges of the movie.
And I thought very specifically of that lesson, and the lesson served me well, once again. So, I'm very grateful for that dinner with Mr. Kurosawa.

He gave me several pieces of advice that I've carried with me, but there was one lesson that I took with me into this production.

解　説

冒頭のheは、黒澤監督を指しています。
adviceは「助言」です。a piece of adviceは「１つの助言」ですので、それ以上の助言をハワード氏が得ていたことが分かります。
ここでのcarryは「記憶にとどめておく」という意味です。
productionは「制作」です。

collaborationは、共通の目的を達成するための複数の人々または組織による「協働、共同作業、協調、協力」です。
problem solvingは「問題解決」です。

And when I became involved in this project, and I realized it was a tremendous challenge with complicated deadline pressures, I decided to use the writers as one point, the producers as another point, and myself as the third.

そして私がこの作品に関わるようになった際、入り組んだ締め切りに迫られる、とてつもなく大きな課題に気づきました。（そこで）脚本家たちを１つの点、制作者たちをもう１つの点、そして私自身を３つ目の点にしようと私は決めたのです。

(be) involved in ...は「～に関わる、～に従事する」という意味です。

tremendousは「とてつもなく大きな」です。
complicatedは「複雑な、込み入った、錯そうした、入り組んだ、分かりにくい、困難な」という意味です。

And this became the collaboration that I used to try to take the movie further and meet the demands of the schedule and the challenges of the movie.

そして私はこの映画をさらに進捗させるため、この協調作業を用いました。そしてスケジュールの調整や、この映画を制作する際の課題に応えていったのです。

take ... furtherは「～をさらに進展させる、より踏み込んで行う」という意味です。
meet the demandsは「要求に応える」という表現です。
the challenges of the movieは、映画を制作する際に直面するさまざまな課題を指しています。

And I thought very specifically of that lesson, and the lesson served me well, once again. So, I'm very grateful for that dinner with Mr. Kurosawa.

それで私はあの教訓について具体的に考えてみたのですが、あの教訓は私にとってまたもや役立ったのです。ですので、黒澤監督とのあの夕食会にはとても感謝しています。
