英語タイトルのextended holidayは「長期にわたる休日」という意味で、RECORD TRAVELERS DURING EXTENDED HOLIDAYは「長期の連休に過去最高の旅行者」です。
４月末からの１０連休を利用して、国内や海外に旅行に出かける人は、大型連休としては過去最高の人数に上るという見通しを大手旅行会社がまとめました。

A record number of people are expected to be on the move during Japan's spring holiday. The official period spanning April 27th to May 6th is especially long this year, due to an Imperial abdication and enthronement.
A survey by major travel agency JTB indicates that a record of nearly 25 million people will travel to domestic and overseas destinations from April 25th to May 5th. That's up 300,000 from last year. The figure is the highest for the period since the travel agency started its forecasts in 1969.
JTB officials say the extra-long holiday will be a big factor. They predict about 24 million people will travel within Japan. Popular destinations will be Hokkaido in the north and Okinawa in the south. Ise Shrine in Mie Prefecture, where ancestors of the Imperial family are enshrined, will also see large numbers of visitors.
662,000 people are expected to travel abroad. Many will go to Southeast Asia, and the extended period will also give tourists the time to take in Europe.
JTB officials say the extra-long holiday that will mark the start of Japan's new "Reiwa" era will inspire people to venture beyond home.

spanは「及ぶ、わたる」という意味で、spanning ...は「～にわたる」です。
due to ...は「～が原因で、～のせいで」という意味で、後ろに名詞を続けて、前置詞のように使います。
an Imperial abdication and enthronementは「天皇陛下の退位と（新天皇の）即位」を表しています。
