Johnson on Wednesday sought approval from the queen to suspend parliament from the second week of September to October 14. He said the aim is to move forward with his domestic agenda.

The leader of the opposition Labour party, Jeremy Corbyn, said suspending parliament was an attack on democracy. Former Finance Minister Philip Hammond took to Twitter to call the situation "a constitutional outrage" and "profoundly undemocratic."
Johnson's decision also brought demonstrators onto the streets to voice their disapproval.

scheduledは「予定された、予定の」という形容詞です。
exit from the European Unionは「ヨーロッパ連合からの退場」、つまり「ＥＵ離脱」のことです。「ＥＵ離脱」という意味では、Brexitという造語もよく使われます。

解　説

seek approvalは「承認を求める、承認を得ようとする」です。
